Private Educator Opportunities

Placing Exceptional Teachers Nationwide since 2003

Why Exceptional Educators Are Choosing Private Education

Great educators enter teaching to support children’s potential.

Traditional environments can make that difficult.

Large classrooms and centers. Limited flexibility. Rigid systems.

Even in strong schools and centers, it’s hard to:

• follow curiosity in real time
• adapt to individual needs
• build meaningful relationships
• support development beyond academics

At a certain point, the question becomes:

“Is there a more intentional way to do this work?”

What Private Education Makes Possible

Across the country, exceptional educators are discovering that private education within a family environment offers the opportunity they’ve been looking for. A chance to engage deeper and shape a child’s development for a lifetime.

With one child or a small group of siblings, educators can:

• observe development closely and respond in real time
• design learning experiences that feel natural and engaging
• integrate learning into everyday life
• support both academic and non-academic growth
• build meaningful, consistent relationships

A nature walk becomes science.
Cooking becomes math and health.
Storytime becomes language, imagination, and early reasoning.

Learning is no longer confined to a classroom, it becomes part of daily life.

TeacherCare places educators in roles where they can practice their work with intention, supporting development from birth through adolescence in environments designed around the child, not the system.

Who Thrives as a Private Educator

TeacherCare works best with educators who see themselves as guides in a child’s intellectual and personal development.

Educators in our network come from backgrounds such as:

• Montessori or Reggio Emilia-inspired education
• Progressive early childhood programs
• Private teaching or homeschool support
• Educational nanny roles integrating care and learning
• Bilingual education or cultural immersion
• Literacy, executive function, or enrichment support

Most bring 5 to 15+years of experience working with children and a strong commitment to thoughtful learning.

Equally important are qualities that cannot be taught in a training program:

• Emotional intelligence and self-awareness
• Curiosity, creativity, and initiative
• Professionalism within a private family environment
• The ability to collaborate respectfully with parents
• A genuine love of childhood exploration and development

Educators may draw from Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and other thoughtful approaches to support the whole child.

Compensation & Professional Opportunity

Compensation varies based on role, schedule, travel, and scope. Most placements range from $90,000 to $140,000+ annually, with some specialized or travel roles exceeding this range.
